EXHIBIT K <br /> Climate <br /> The proposed permit area exhibits a semi-arid climate typical of the High Plains region. The <br /> region is characterized by low humidity, low average precipitation, and a high percentage of <br /> sunshine. A large amount of the precipitation which occurs falls during short duration, high <br /> intensity summer thunderstorm activity. <br /> Climate information was available from the Western Regional Climate Center in Fort Collins, <br /> Colorado and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Fort Collins is about 13 miles south of the proposed site and <br /> Cheyenne is approximately 25 miles north of the proposed permit area. The climate data <br /> collected from 1893 through 2016 and 1915 through 2016 for Fort Collins and Cheyenne, <br /> respectively, indicates the total annual precipitation at the site to be approximately 15.1 inches <br /> per year.
