Anew addition to the water treatment plant designed to remove molybdenum from the water is currently being
constructed next to the existing PDWTP. This Molybdenum removal system is expected to be operational in
2025.
G-2.11 Domestic Water Systems
A reliable source of domestic water is required in the mill area buildings and in the process water treatment
systems. The existing system is shown on Figure G-01. A schematic representation of the system is
included on Figure G-02. The domestic water supply, storage, and delivery systems are generally maintained
separately from the process water systems. Potable water treatment is performed at the site. The primary
facilities associated with the domestic water system include the Arkansas Well, Buffehrs Lake and Pump
Station,Chalk Mountain Reservoir and Pump Station, the Domestic WaterTreatment Plant, the McNulty Well,
and the PDWTP Domestic Well.
G-2.11.1 Arkansas Well
The Arkansas Well is located in the Arkansas River basin and pumps water from the Arkansas River to the
Domestic Water Treatment Plant. The Arkansas Well is the primary source of domestic water at the site and
can provide a consistent yield of 487 gpm on a year-round basis (maximum of 785 acre-feet per year).
G-2.11.2 Buffehrs Lake
Buffehrs Lake is a domestic water storage facility with a capacity of approximately 100 acre-feet. A pump
station at the lake can deliver water to the Lime Station and SDP for use in the process water treatment
system or to the Domestic Water Treatment System. Fresh water inflows from the small drainage basin
tributary to the lake provide an additional source of domestic water in the system.
G-2.11.3 Chalk Mountain Reservoir
Chalk Mountain Reservoir is a domestic water storage facility with a capacity of approximately 200 acre-feet.
A pump station at the reservoir can deliverwaterto Buffehrs Lake orto the Domestic WaterTreatment Plant.
Fresh water inflows from the small drainage basin tributary to the reservoir provide an additional source of
domestic water in the system. Chalk Mountain Reservoir is the primary backup source of domestic water to
the mill area facilities.
G-2.11.4 Domestic Water Treatment Plant
Associated with the restart of the Climax Mine,a new package reverse osmosis water treatment system was
installed in the Domestic Water Treatment Plant. Treated water from this system is pumped up to the
Domestic Water Storage Tank located above the mill area. From there, the water is distributed to the various
buildings in the mill area through a network of pipelines. Operation of the treatment facility is in accordance
with the regulatory requirements of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
G-2.11.5 Sanitary Wastewater Treatment System
Sanitary wastewater from the mill area facilities is delivered to the Sanitary Wasterwater Treatment Plant.
The sanitary wastewater treatment facility is located north of the Gate House and provides centralized
treatment of sanitary wastewater generated within the various facilities in the mill area. The effluent from the
plant discharges into the process water system.
Exhibit G G-9 May 2024
