Permit M-1977-493—Climax Mine Technical Revision 37 (TR-37) <br /> Map Unit: 933B <br /> Cryoborolls -Cryochrepts complex, 0 to 40 percent slopes. <br /> Ecological Land Unit: 93313—willows, grasses, sedges and forbs on alpine, valleys. <br /> MAP UNIT SETTINGS <br /> Location: alpine areas where sedimentary rocks predominate. <br /> Landform: valleys. <br /> Parent material:glacial till and valley fill. <br /> Geologic symbol: Pmb, PPm, TrPs. <br /> Elevation range: 11,600 to 13,000 feet. <br /> Aspect: all. <br /> Climatic zone: alpine. <br /> Mean annual precipitation: 30 to 50 inches. <br /> Mean annual air temperature: 34°F. to 38°F. <br /> Average annual snowfall: 300 to 500 inches. <br /> COMPOSITION <br /> 45 percent Cryoborolls and similar soils. <br /> 40 percent Cryochrepts and similar soils. <br /> Contrasting inclusions <br /> 10 percent cirque - ice scoured bedrock, cliffs and talus <br /> 5 percent wet soil on seeps and ponded drainages. <br /> TYPICAL PROFILES: <br /> Cryoborolls <br /> A representative pedon of this soil occurs on a 48 percent south southwest facing slope at <br /> 10,850 feet elevation located in SE 1/4, SW 1/4, sec. 22, T. 11 S., R. 87 W., in Gunnison County, <br /> Colorado supporting a Thurber fescue, ligusticum, American vetch community. <br /> Al -- 0 to 2 inches; grayish brown (10YR 5/2) channery silt loam, very dark grayish brown (10YR <br /> 3/2) moist; weak coarse platy structure parting to moderate fine and medium granular; very <br /> friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; common very fine, few fine and medium roots; many fine and <br /> medium interstitial pores; 20 percent flat siltstone rock fragments; slightly acid; clear smooth <br /> boundary. <br /> A2 --2 to 12 inches; brown (10YR 5/3)silt loam, dark brown (10YR 3/3) moist; weak fine and <br /> medium subangular blocky structure; very friable, slightly sticky, nonplastic; many very fine <br /> and common fine and medium roots; common fine and medium interstitial pores; 10 percent <br /> flat siltstone rock fragments; neutral; gradual smooth boundary. <br /> E -- 12 to 20 inches; pale brown (10YR 6/3) silt loam, brown (10YR 4/3) moist; weak fine and <br /> medium subangular blocky structure; very friable, slightly sticky, nonplastic; common fine and <br /> very fine and few medium roots; common fine and medium interstitial pores; 10 percent flat <br /> siltstone rock fragments; slightly acid; clear wavy boundary. <br /> Bw--20 to 47 inches; pale brown (10YR 6/3) channery silt loam, dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) <br /> moist; moderate medium subangular blocky structure; very friable, slightly sticky, nonplastic; <br /> few fine, very fine and medium roots; common fine and medium interstitial pores; 15 percent <br /> flat siltstone rock fragments; neutral; clear smooth boundary. <br /> C --47 to 60 inches; grayish brown (2.5Y 5/2) channery silt loam, dark grayish brown (2.5Y 4/2) <br /> moist; massive; friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; 25 percent flat siltstone rock fragments; neutral. <br /> Exhibit I —Appendix A I-A-40 March 2024 <br />
