Permit M-1977-493—Climax Mine Technical Revision 37 (TR-37) <br /> Eyre <br /> A representative pedon of this soil occurs on a 75 percent west southwest facing back slope at <br /> 9,100 feet elevation located in the SW 1/4, SE 1/4, sec. 23 , T. 4 S., R. 82 W., in Eagle County, <br /> Colorado supporting a aspen/Thurber fescue plant association. <br /> Oi -- 1 to 0 inches; undecomposed grass litter; abrupt clear boundary. <br /> Al -- 0 to 5 inches; gravelly loam, dark reddish brown (5YR 3/2) moist; weak fine subangular <br /> blocky structure parting to weak fine granular; very friable, nonsticky, nonplastic; many very <br /> fine and fine roots; many fine interstitial pores; 18 percent sandstone rock fragments; slightly <br /> alkaline; clear smooth boundary. <br /> A2 -- 5 to 12 inches; very gravelly loam, dark reddish brown (5YR 3/3) moist; weak fine <br /> subangular blocky structure parting to weak fine granular; very friable, slightly sticky, <br /> nonplastic; common very fine and many fine roots; many fine interstitial pores; 40 percent <br /> sandstone rock fragments; neutral; clear wavy boundary. <br /> Bw-- 12 to 17 inches; extremely cobbly fine sandy clay loam, red (2.5YR 4/6) moist; weak fine <br /> and medium subangular blocky structure; very friable, slightly sticky, nonplastic; few very fine <br /> and common fine roots; many very fine interstitial pores; 70 percent sandstone rock <br /> fragments; neutral; abrupt smooth boundary. <br /> R-- 17 inches; hard red sandstone <br /> Rubble land <br /> No soil is associated with this inclusion. Limited by steepness, and surface roughness that <br /> includes loose rock and rock outcrop exposures. <br /> Typic Cryochrepts <br /> Oi -- 1.5 to 0 inches -spruce, fir and pine litter and duff. <br /> Al 1 -- 0 to 7 inches - light brown, very cobbly loam. <br /> Al2 -- 7 to 19 inches - light brown, extremely cobbly fine sandy loam. <br /> B21 -- 19 to 30 inches - light brown, extremely gravelly sandy loam. <br /> B22 -- 30 to 39 inches - red, extremely gravelly sandy loam. <br /> B23 -- 39 to 57 inches - red, extremely cobbly sandy loam. <br /> C -- 57 to 72 inches - red, extremely cobbly sandy clay loam. <br /> No representative pedon is available. A general description of a Typic Cryochrept is contained <br /> below. <br /> Oi -- 1 to 0 inches; undecomposed spruce, fir and pine litter and duff; abrupt clear boundary. <br /> Al 1 —0 to 7 inches; dark grayish brown (10YR 4/2) cobbly sandy loam, very dark brown (10YR <br /> 2/2) moist; weak fine granular structure; slightly hard (dry), very friable (moist), nonsticky <br /> and slightly plastic (wet); many fine roots; 25 percent cobbles and stones; slightly acid; <br /> abrupt wavy boundary. <br /> Al —7 to 19 inches; brown (10YR 5/3) cobbly fine sandy loam, dark brown (10YR 4/3) moist; <br /> weak medium subangular blocky structure; friable (moist), slightly sticky and non-plastic <br /> (wet); many fine and medium roots; 20 percent gravel and cobbles; medium acid; gradual <br /> wavy boundary. <br /> B21 19 to 30 inches; pale brown (10YR 6/3)cobbly sandy loam, brown (10YR 4/3) moist; weak <br /> medium subangular blocky structure; very friable (moist), slightly sticky and non-plastic <br /> Exhibit I —Appendix A I-A-33 March 2024 <br />
