The rock check dam will reduce water <br /> velocity thus allowing sediment to settle. <br /> Installation of the culvert cross drain is explained above. <br /> (j) Colorado Water Laws <br /> No water will be impounded in the Quarry. Water used for dust suppression will be <br /> purchased from a party that has the right to use the water. The operation will not cause <br /> injury to existing water rights. <br /> (k) Refuse or Toxic Producing Materials <br /> If refuse and acid or toxic producing materials are exposed during mining,the material <br /> will be left in the pit and covered with available subsoil and topsoil to control <br /> unsightliness and protect the drainage system from pollution <br /> (1) Disturbance to Hydrologic Balance <br /> The surface water controls explained is(i) above will help minimize disturbance to the <br /> hydrologic balance and prevent off-site damage. The proposed future land use is <br /> recreation and wildlife habitat. Reclaiming the Quarry to approximate original contour <br /> will create areas suitable for recreation and wildlife habitat. <br /> (m) On Site Processing <br /> The Limestone mined will have limited processing on site. (palletizing and sizing) <br /> (n) Commodities to be Mined <br /> The primary commodity mined will be dimensional limestone. The limestone used for <br /> flooring material, strip-stone, retaining walls, landscaping and other structure <br /> construction uses. No secondary or incidental commodities will be mined/extracted <br /> from the quarry. <br /> (o) Use of Incidental Products <br /> Not applicable, no incidental products will be mined/extracted from the quarry. <br /> (p) Explosives <br /> Explosives will occasionally be used in conjunction with the mining operation. Blasting <br /> will be conducted by a certified blasting contractor approximately once per week. The <br /> quarry is not visible from any structures. There are no structures of any type within <br /> 2,000' of the Quarry. <br />
