3.2. Monitoring and Close-Out
The site will be monitored for water and erosion impacts.
1) All active pile areas will be inspected at least daily during operations, and then weekly for six
months following revegetation, and then monthly until certified and released by Park County.
2) Runoff will be sampled at a designated location based on the determined discharge point of
the CDPHE stormwater permit.
3) Sampling parameters will be based on the results of the SPLP test from the pile.
a. If sampling of stormwater discharge pH is below 6, topsoil will be stripped from the
disturbance area and a 12-inch layer of crushed limestone will be laid. Topsoil will
then be replaced over the limestone and new seeding will take place.
4) Upon topsoiling and seeding is complete, the surety will be reduced from$28,000 per acre
to$7,000 per acre.
a. Surety reduction will be certified by Park County.
5) Close-out: Upon certification of successful revegetation by Park County and endorsed by
CDRMS, the remaining surety will be refunded, and stormwater/sediment control structures
will be removed.
Abandoned Pile SOP 3 0 Lewicki 81 Associates
