Behind the High Knob (north)there is a small amount of usable soil.
On the quarter acre behind the High Knob (Photo C-3), five inches of salvaged soil could
be harvested. On the remaining area there is little soil that is a viable growth medium.
In summary, on the north slope 8 inches and the south slope 5 inches is to be salvaged
in areas that have sufficient soil suitable for harvest.
If salvaged soil is stock piled for long periods of time, the soil degrades and tilth is lost.
Soil that is to be stored for long periods, over a year, should be seeded with an interim
mix. Planting is by broadcasting. The recommended seed mix is in Table C-1.
C5
Exhibit C,Wagner Pit Mining Plan,Great Basin Environmental&Aquatics
