Location and Legal Description, Exhibit A
This section will describe the location using both maps and other descriptors. In general,
the pit is located 25 miles south of Rangely, Colorado, along state highway 139 between
mile markers 49 and 48. The pit is completely within the boundaries of 320 acres
owned by Twin Buttes Land Co L.L.C. (Rio Blanco County Parcel # 189119200001).
Surrounding property is Federal land managed by the Bureau of Land Management
(BLM). See Maps A-1, and A-3. A gravel pit has been in existence at this location, at a
minimum, since 1964 as evidenced by the Texas Mountain topographical quadrangle of
1964 (USGS 1964). See Map A-3. Table A-1 gives the basic descriptors from the Public
Land Survey System (PLSS), and other general information.
