Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative
I am a property owner in Leadville, CO. I built there to take advantage of the year round recreational
opportunities. I am opposed to CJK Milling Company's proposal to re-open the Leadville Mill to process mine
waste with cyanide. Leadville has moved away from its mining past.A huge amount of resources have been
expended to clean up the toxic mining mess of decades of mining in the area. It doesn't make sense to expose
the community and environment to the risks associated with an unproven technology which could potentially
result in significant damage to human health and environment for a small return. In addition to risks to water
and soil,the trucking(multiple trucks,every day all day,hauling tailings from mountainside to mill)poses
additional risks to the community, creating noise and pollution, negatively impacting the recreational economy
that has been created in Lake County.Thank you for this opportunity to respond to this proposal. I urge you to
reject it.
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M1977999, M1999777UG or C1981201.
M1990057
Permitting Action Type
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
i
Permit Type
County
Lake
Enter one county only
Site Name
