This form is not intended for reporting of possible violations or illegal activity. Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative *
There are so many reasons to object to this proposed operation. Foremost is the risk. The claims that there
wouldn't be any risk to downstream waters or ground waters cannot be trusted because the potential damage
that could occur is immeasurable. There are some things in life that we just don't do because the damage
would be so great. Potentially poisoning drinking water and downstream aquatic life is one of them!!
Also, the quality of life for those who would be impacted by the truck traffic this project would require is another
reason this whole effort should be stopped. The noise, the air quality, the road damage and the DANGER to
pedestrians are collectively, enough to warrant cancellation of any permits!
One of the counter arguments is that "getting rid" of the "unsightly" tailings piles on the east side would be a
"plus". The disturbance of those tailings would be a much bigger "minus". There would be much greater
likelihood of contaminated runoff from the project during the progress of removing them than if you just let them
sit and confine the runoff as has been done when needed. And there will be a significant amount of waste at the
end of CJK's process- where will that be deposited... right down here in our midst! So ask the citizens of Lake
County if they would rather have the "unsightly" tailings up the hill or right here at the edge of town?
This is not a remediation process! This is a money -making proposal that will cost the local citizens in ways that
cannot be measured in dollars! Please deny all further applications for the furtherance of this project!
Permit Number*
Enter valid letter and then numbers, for example M1977999, M1999777UG or C1981201.
M1990057
Permitting Action Type
Select revision type or leave blank if comment pertains to a new permit application or NOI
I
Permit Type
