(f) Sanborn Creek Mine Facilities (Page 2.05-60)
The Sanborn Creek Mine portal area and the Sanborn Creek Fan-site & Substation No. 3 area
(also referred to as the Sanborn Utility Area)received Phase III bond release with SL-4.
The Sanborn Creek Mine overland conveyor and associated road have been reclaimed. Not all of
the land underneath the conveyor has been through Phase I bond release so a task for the
demolition of the conveyor has been retained in the RCE, although the linear feet associated with
it was reduced from 3,100 LF to 1,500 LF when the sitewide estimated was re-evaluated with
MT-8.
Two culverts under the railroad are approved as permanent structures.
De-gasification wells (and associated roads) CBM-1 through-14 achieved Phase I bond release
with SL-2 and Phase II bond release with SL-3. A task associated with revegetating this
disturbance will continue to be included in the RCE until Phase III bond release is achieved.
Fire control and monitoring boreholes in A-gulch and C-gulch achieved Phase I and II bond
release with SL-2 and Phase III bond release with SL-5.
(g) Elk Creek Mine Facilities (Page 2.05-62)
According to sections 2.05.4 and 2.05.5 of the PAP, the post-mining land use for this area is
"Undeveloped lands", with no facilities approved as permanent.
Similar to item (e) above, revisions made to other parts of the PAP (Exhibit 2.05-E5, Map 2.05-
M6, and Map 2.05-M8)with TR-76 have introduced some conflicting information:
• Exhibit 2.05-E5, Item 6 states that five areas, some of which are in the "Elk
Creek Mine Facilities" area, will support an alternative post-mining land use
(presumably "Industrial/Commercial", although it is not specified), including:
Elk Creek coal mine methane project(former upper fan and utility bench), access roads and
powerlines[i.e. Access to North Fork Energy, LLC (NFELLC) methane project, also see Exhibit
2.03-E4 for COGCC Borehole;Elk Creek Fan Borehole #1)J. Former compressor building
shells, D2B sump water transfer borehole, and water tank to remain. 2.9 acres
• Map 2.05-M8, Sheets 1 and 2, shows the parcel referred to above as having a
post-mining land use of Industrial/Mining.
• Map 2.05-M6, Sheet 3 of 6, shows the retention of the following permanent
facilities:
o Two buildings, previously used for compressors
o Water tank
o Active methane drainage pumps, and shelter
o Inactive substation no. 4
15
