Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 Grand Junction, CO 81501-5711 Re: Trapper Mine (Permit No. C-1981-010) Technical Revision No. 135 (TR-135) L-Pit (K Knob) Extension and East J-Pit Dragline Cuts Dear Sir or Madam: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 8, 2024 an application to revise coal mining operations at the Trapper Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Trapper Mining, Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. Revision to add additional mining in the southeast portion of the L-Pit, commonly referred to as K Knob. The pit will be extended to the north. Additionally revised materials are included for a proposed J-East pit that will consist of five surface dragline cuts. The request comprises 50.8 acres of additional disturbance. The applicant is proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 6 miles Southwest of Craig, Colorado.
