EXHIBIT L RECLAMATION COSTS
Mining at the Siskin Pit will disturb a total of 77.5 acres across a permit area of 85.7 acres. Given
the length of time it will take to mine this entire site, the Operator will phase the mining plan and
requests the bond be calculated to reflect the greatest incremental default liability. This worst-
case scenario is presently based on mining and reclamation for the extent of phase l as shown on
Map C-3.
Prior to beginning to mine and open future phases, bonding may be reevaluated by the Operator
or Division if future phases will increase the incremental liability.
At the end of phase 1, and if the site were to permanently close, the final bench along the north
facing slope will need to be backfilled and seeded. Therefore, a 20-foot-high bench up to 300
feet in length (not the entire length) will require backfill to a 2.0H:I.0V slope with overburden
and/or waste fines and then capped with topsoil before dry rangeland seed is spread. Prior to
topsoiling, the graded overburden will be ripped with a stormwater catch dip along the base of
the slope. The area is estimated to be 40 feet 2.0H:1.0V slope by 300 feet or 0.3 acres. The phase
1 5.6-acre processing area will be topped with 8 inches of topsoil and seeded with a dry
• rangeland seed mix.
Therefore, bond calculations are based on a projected total maximum of 5.9 acres of disturbed
land at the completion of phase 1, as shown on Map C-3. It should be noted, that total
disturbance at the completion of phase 1 will be 12.9 acres; however, this scenario accounts for
the end extent of the phase with the majority of slope reclamation already in process or
completed.
The following reclamation tasks will be required.
• Mobilization of equipment<45 miles= $20.000.00.
• Active highwall knockdown: 300 feet of roughly I.0H:0.5V slope bulldozed
down/backfilled along the 40-foot-wide bench to 2.01-1:1.0V at a final height of 20 feet;
include catch ditch ripping. Roughly 4,445.00 CY of dozer work at$2.00/CY=
$8,890.00.
• Topsoil surfacing= 5.9 acres at 8 inches deep= 6,346.00 CY at$1.50/CY =$9,519.00.
Siskin Pit
January 2024 L-1 U Lcwicki& Associates
