EXHIBIT C- MINING PLAN
(6.3.3)
(1)(a) The owner is leveling an area to be used for a shop and storage area, and his plan requires
the removal of some excess material, which he might put to beneficial use off of the
property. The owner will do leveling in his spare time and is in no hurry to finish his
project, so the anticipated date of closure is December 31, 2033. As it relates to the life
of mine, and under provisions of Section 34-32.5-103(11)(b), C.R.S, if construction
material reserves are shown by the operator to remain in the operation and the operator
plans to, or does, temporarily cease production for one hundred eighty days or more, if
such operator files a notice with the board stating the reasons for nonproduction, a plan
for the resumption of production, and the measures taken to comply with reclamation and
other necessary activities as established by the board to maintain the operation in a
nonproducing state. The requirement of a notice of temporary cessation shall not apply to
operators who resume operating within one year and have included in their permit
applications a statement that the affected lands are to be used for less than one hundred
eighty days per year. This owner anticipates that he will remove material (mine) less
than 180 days per year but is likely able to move at least one truckload per year to be in
compliance with regulations.
(1)(b) The thicknesses of the "A and B Horizon" soils ranges from 0 inches to about 12 inches
across the permit area. The operator will be diligent to save any soil materials that can
be used for reclamation. That material will be kept stable and protected prior to
placement during reclamation. All long-term soil stockpiles will be stored safely away
from traffic, with their surface graded and seeded with a reclamation grass mix to help
preserve the physical characteristics of the material and to minimize any erosion.
(1)(c) The site was specifically chosen as it is a good site for building a shop and storage area,
and since the design calls for removal of excess material to achieve the goals, there will
be no overburden or waste rock produced. As a result, no waste rock piles are shown on
the figures.
(1)(d) The landowner simply wants to level the area and only wants to excavate to sufficient
depth to reach his objectives. The maximum depth will be 20 feet at one location along
the northern edge, and the amount of material moved will taper to zero feet on the south.
(1)(e) The material is to be bulldozed, or loaded using a backhoe or front-end loader and hauled
by truck. Ancillary items on site might include a shed if needed, along with equipment
necessary to conduct the work. No mining equipment or mining structures will be fixed
in place.
