Introduction
The project included a 9.89 sand and gravel pit located Section 29 Township 40 N Range 4E, in Rio Grande County
(Hanna Pit#1, Permit M-2004-045. The permit for this site was revoked and the financial warranty was forfeited.

Pre Reclamation Site Conditions
The site contained a gravel pit with vertical highwalls approximately 6 to 8 feet high. Prior to reclamation, the pond floor was
mostly revegetated with willow and cottonwoods, with the exception of a barren area on the south side of the pit floor. In the
spring, groundwater pools in the southeast portion of the pit. Two topsoil stockpiles containing total of approximately 4,000
cubic yards of material were present on-site prior to reclamation.
Bidding/Construction Information
The site is located within the River Acres Subdivision in Rio Grande County approximately five miles east of the town of South
Fork. The site is presently owned by the River Acres Subdivision Homeowners Association. The subdivision is accessed by
County Road 15. DRMS met with HOA president Rick Hardy [phone] for the initial site visit in June of 2023 and then
corresponded with HOA representative Keith Lammey [phone] immediately prior to beginning work at the site.
DRMS met with Brian Golding of Rio Grande Civil on June 20t", 2023 to look at the site. A work plan was developed and a bid
was obtained from Rio Grande for the work in the amount of$20,000 on 7/21/23. This bid was deemed fair and reasonable.

Construction Work Description
The reclamation plan called for the side slopes of the pit to be graded to a 3H:1 V slope. Approximately two thirds of the side
slopes around the perimeter of the pit are almost vertical and 6 to 8 feet high. The reclamation work involved: 1) re-grading
the pit walls to a 3H:1 V slope(1,200 LF), 2)Grading and applying four to five inches of topsoil on a portion of the pit floor(0.33
Acres). A total of 500 CY of topsoil was transported from the stockpile and placed on the pit floor and side slopes. River
Acres Subdivision will dispose of the remaining topsoil. 3) Seeding the graded side slopes of the pit and portions of the pit
floor(2 Acres). Seed was hand broadcast and incorporated mechanically. Fertilizer and mulch were not applied.
