All drums will be stored in an upright position, on pallets or similar X <br /> device to facilitate observation for leaks, corrosion or damage. <br /> All products used on job site must be approved by Colorado Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining and Safety prior to their use and an MSDS kept at X <br /> the site. <br /> S. FIRE PROTECTION <br /> Specific procedures must be developed by the CONTRACTOR to X <br /> ensure that fire hazards are addressed and controlled. <br /> Use, storage and segregation of flammable and combustible materials X <br /> must be in accordance with NFPA regulations. <br /> Contractor will immediately notify Colorado Division of Reclamation, X <br /> Mining and Safety project manager of any fire emergency. <br /> Provision for fire response must be addressed in plan approved by X <br /> Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety. <br /> Hot Work Procedures will be used to ensure welding, cutting and X <br /> grinding safety. <br /> These procedures shall include grinding, welding and cutting <br /> safety, bottle handling and storage, training for employees X <br /> expected to perform welding and cutting, fire watch procedures, <br /> and personnel protection during these operations. <br /> Compressed gas cylinders must be stored in upright position, secured to X <br /> prevent falling, regulators guarded on all sides. <br /> Oxygen and Acetylene cylinders not in used must be shut off, pressure X <br /> bled from hoses, regulators. <br /> Fire extinguishers must be provided for all mobile equipment and X <br /> at all areas where hot work is being performed. <br /> Fire extinguishers must be maintained and inspected in <br /> accordance with MSHA/OSHA regulations on/in all mobile X <br /> equipment. <br /> CONTRACTOR must supply each work crew with two (2) five pound <br /> (5#) Class A fire extinguishers. Additionally, each crew member must be <br /> supplied with one (1) sharpened round nosed shovel. These must be X <br /> immediately available to the crew members for use should an <br /> uncontrolled ignition occur. <br /> T. HANTA VIRUS <br /> Demolition of abandoned buildings involves the disruption of mice habitat, which has the <br /> potential of harboring the hanta virus. A concentrated chlorine solution (50/50 <br /> Clorox/water) is known to be effective in killing the virus. The concentrated spray should <br /> be directed at groupings of mice feces and urine areas. The CONTRACTOR is strongly <br /> advised to spray down buildings targeted for demolition prior to initiating demolition <br /> activities.
