J. Describe and locate any structures to be constructed (i.e. stockpiles, ponds,
impoundments):
No significant structures will be constructed. Core drill pads will be engineered with a
catchment basin and no discharge of stormwater or flulds of any kind. Sediment control
structures (silt fences or wattles) will be placed downslope from each core drill pad and
water bars. See FIGURE 4-Core Drilling Pad Plans.
K. Describe anticipated relationship to surface water and groundwater (proximity to
streams,penetration of ground water aquifers):
Core drill locations range from 2,000 to 3,000 feet from Rat Creek. To ensure protection of
surface vvaters, all I ioles will be drilled with only water through t'ie alluvim i. d,id ii rto bedl ock
where the holes will be cased. Casing will be sealed with cement or bentonite to contain and
prevent drill fluids from entering the alluvium. Only NSF approved drilling fluids will be used in
drilling beyond the casing Drill sumps will be lined Drilling may penetrate local occurrences of
fracture controlled groundwater, but no artesian flow to the surface is anticipated.
IV. OPERATION AND RECLAMATION MEASURES:
1. The Board suggests that a photographic record of the pre-prospecting and
post-prospecting conditions be kept by the prospector. These photos should be taken
from the same location and by the same method to clearly show the pre-prospecting
condition of the land and the reclamation efforts. Upon completion of reclamation and
request for bond or surety release, the Board may consider the photos as evidence of
adequate reclamation, and thus,be able to act more quickly on the request for release.
2. Provide a description of the native vegetation of the area to be disturbed, including
tree, shrub, and grass communities of the area. Color photographs, sufficient to
adequately represent the ecology of the site and adequately labeled (including date,
orientation and location), may be used in lieu of a written description. Based on the
quality of the photographs, the Division may require additional detail.
The exploration area is located in sub-alpine habitat with areas of rocky outcrop and
sub-crop material and detritus. Vegetation includes Engleman spruce and sub-alpine fir
with *nrl,ls*ons of aspen I Indpr Stf)rV yades b,it inch des Kinnikin'k and Rocky
Mountain Juniper.
Form 2—Public File Page 8 of 14
