Bear Creek Quarry Permit Amendment for Red Creek Quarry

Please be advised that on October 10, 2023, Holcim (US) Inc., whose address and telephone number are
3500 Highway 120, Florence, CO 81226; [phone], filed an application for a/an Amendment (AM-
2) to M1977344, Portland Limestone Quarry, which is located approximately 8.5 miles Southeast of
Florence, Section 24, Township 20S, Range 68W, 06th Principle Meridian, in Fremont, Pueblo County.

Holcim is amending the Portland Limestone Quarry (Bear Creek Quarry) Permit to include the Red Creek
Quarry of 4078.72 acres for a total permit area of 5678.72 acres. The Red Creek Quarry is the future
limestone source for the Portland Cement Plant replacing the Bear Creek Quarry in the future.

The application decision is scheduled for January 8, 2024. Written comments or objections to the
application may be submitted to and additional information obtained from Timothy A. Cazier, P.E. at the
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, 1313 Sherman St. Room 215 Denver, CO 80203, by telephone
at [phone] x 8169.

Holcim (US) Inc. is required to publish a public notice in a newspaper of general circulation in the locality of
the mining operation once per week for four consecutive weeks. If you wish to make comments on or
objections to the mine plan and/or the reclamation plan, they must be submitted within twenty (20) days of
the date of the last newspaper public notice to be considered in the application review process by the
Division. You should contact the applicant for the newspaper publication date. If we do not receive your
comments or any objection by the end of the public comment period, the Division will assume you have no
objection or comment to the proposed activity.
