Mr. Joshua Carpenter
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Albuquerque District
January 8, 2021
Page 2
usace trans letter_clevenger_ranch_colorado_holcimus_revised
within the Property would likely be classified as summarized below and indicated
on the attached PJD Form and supporting documentation:

o Ephemeral: Approximately 0.9 miles from the western Property boundary
to the limestone knickpoint.
o Intermittent: Approximately 0.2 miles from the confluence of Red Creek
with the western most tributary within the Property boundary to the
northern extent of the Property boundary.
o Perennial: Approximately 1.9 miles from the just upstream of the lime-
stone knickpoint to just below the confluence of Red Creek with the
western most tributary within the Property boundary.

• Approximately 2.3 acres of possible wetlands were identified along Red Creek.

• The tributaries to Red Creek were reassessed to determine the boundary be-
tween ephemeral and upland ditch in December 2020 and the revised total was
determined to be 5.88 miles, as shown in Attachments A and B to the PJD Form.

• Two (2) tributaries to the Arkansas River were reassessed to determine the
boundary between ephemeral and upland ditch in December 2020 and the re-
vised total was determined to be 0.42 miles, as shown in Attachments A and B
to the PJD Form.

• The Minnequa Canal flows across the property along the northeast corner. The
canal is fully fenced within the Project Site and is siphoned under Red Creek,
just north of the Property boundary. It is assumed that any impact to the canal
shall be avoided during mining operations and is not considered jurisdictional.

Brown and Caldwell is providing the attached revised PJD Form and supporting docu-
mentation with a request of reassessment and approval of Formal PJD determination
previously approved by the USACE Albuquerque District Staff.

If you have any questions or require additional information, please contact me at (303)
239-5473.

Very truly yours,

Brown and Caldwell

Aylin Lewallen
Project Manager

Enclosure
