This <br />includes connecting the misfire and re-initiation attempts <br />● Complete the misfire checklist. <br /> <br />Misfires can be handled in one of three ways: <br /> <br />1. Re-priming or reconnecting surface lines and re-shooting unfired holes <br />This can only be done if: <br />A. Proper burden is present in the front of unfired holes or <br />B. Sufficient material can be placed in front of free face to replace robbed burden <br />C. The blast safety zone can be extended to a size capable of containing any increase in rock throw as a result of <br />robbed burden <br /> <br />2. Removing the primer elements from un-shot holes <br /> This requires the removal of stemming material by: <br />● The use of air pressure only on electronic and nonel detonators (as long as an anti -static line is used) <br />● Mechanically removing overburden and stemming to access the explosive column <br />● Flushing the stemming material with water <br /> <br />
