<br /> <br />Bear Creek Quarry (M-1977-344) Permit Amendment <br />Holcim US Inc, 3500 Highway 120, Florence, CO 81226 <br />Phone (719) 288-1443 www.holcim.us 7 <br />Limestone mining will occur seven days per week in 10 to 12 hour shifts, with a targeted mining rate of <br />approximately 10,000 tons per day. Limestone will be mined from the working face. Then conveyed to the <br />preliminary sizing plant to be located in the northwest corner of Section 24. Sized material will be <br />transferred to the overhead conveyor system and transported to the cement plant. The completely <br />developed mine will mine and process approximately 3.2M tons of limestone annually. <br />Post mining land use will be range land for cattle grazing. Reclamation will slope highwalls and groom <br />contours to blend with surrounding topography. Surfaces will be seeded with a United States Department <br />of Agriculture (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) recommended seed blend <br />appropriate for the semi-arid climate. <br />1.3 Applicant Background <br />Holcim is a historic and established cement manufactu rer throughout CO as well as across the United <br />States and internationally. Narrative and exhibits presentation coincide with <br />the rule outline and application exhibit list for ease of reference during review. <br />This application and reports therein were prepared for the exclusive use by Holcim. Reports and exhibits <br />contain site specific and mine operation detail relevant only to the RCQ. None of the consultants to Holcim <br />or Holcim itself are responsible for misuse of the contents of the application in part or as a whole.
