LONDON MINE
M-2023-015
Exhibit C—Rule 6.3.3
Mining Plan
This operation will only involve pre-existing waste rock and activities on pre-disturbed land. Interspersed
in the existing waste rock a significant amount of low-grade gold and silver ore from which the operator
proposes to extract and remove from the site to be further processed at a permitted site elsewhere.
This plan is limited to handling pre-mined materials.
The permit area consists of two separate parcels:an upper waste rock area (termed the South London
Stockpile area)where all the existing waste rock to be sorted will be removed from;and a lower area
(the Processing Area)where the waste rock will be sorted for mineral values with stationary equipment
set up for this purpose, plus areas for stockpiling the sorted materials.
The site areas are accessible by existing county/forest roads. All material hauling between sites will be
on existing roads, and all hauling of materials off the site for final processing will be on existing roads.
During the operation roadways will be maintained adequately, and all necessary drainage and erosion
controls will be implemented and monitored.
The South London Stockpile is a 4.31-acre pre-law waste rock dump that was placed on the native slope.
This piece of the permitted area is defined by and will completely encompass the waste rock pile. When
the operation is finished, the majority of the waste rock dump will be removed, exposing the former
native hillslope surface. Throughout the operation, all necessary drainage and erosion controls will be
implemented and monitored. There is a man-made structure,a wooden headframe, near the northern
edge of the South London area which will remain after waste rock removal is complete.
The Processing Area of the permit contains 4.86-acres;all of which has been affected by historic mining
or contemporary remediation activities. Within this part of the permit area, there are currently existing
roadways, structures, overhead powerlines, level pad areas,a runoff control pond, and small waste rock
dump. The immediately surrounding land is also host to these same types of features and disturbance,
but activity under this permit will be carefully limited to only the permitted land.
The existing buildings, found within this area and listed within Exhibit L,are on the permitted site will be
utilized for this operation. In order to be used for this operation, they will be maintained so as not to
become a reclamation liability. Additional temporary structures, including but not limited to"zircon-
type"steel containers may be brought onsite as needed. No construction of new permanent structures
is planned, and no removal of existing structures is planned.
The sorting of the on-site waste rock is the key to this operation. It will separate the ore from the
material with insufficient value through the use of X-ray sorting equipment that will be assembled onsite.
Mining activities therefore will include the unsorted waste rock stockpiles feeding the sorter, the sorting
equipment, power plant, fuel supply, earthmoving equipment, and sorted materials stockpiles.
