Everything looks
good on the map except the entire area to be reclaimed is not outlined as requested. Only the mining area is outlined in
pink. However, if any other disturbances (e.g, stockpiles, parking, equipment storage, ponds, stormwater structures, roads)
will occur in the other areas, then they too will require reclamation.
Based on your previous response, it appears the proposed maximum disturbed area will be set to the affected area and
permit area, at 54.5 acres. If that's the case, then please indicate it somehow on the reclamation plan map. For example,
you could leave the pink line and label it as the proposed mining area, then either add another color outline that insets the
blue permit area and label it as the proposed area to be reclaimed, OR you can add a label pointing to the blue permit area
that indicates the entire permit area will require reclamation. However you choose to do it,the map just needs to show the
entire area that will require reclamation, and not just the proposed mining area.
If on the other hand you are proposing to not disturb the areas outside of the pink outline in any way until a TR is submitted
to increase the disturbance area, then the mining plan and map will need to be revised accordingly. Currently, the
application states these areas will be disturbed by scales, stockpiles (in the south area) and a dewatering ditch (in the north
area). If you end up changing the proposed disturbed area,we will need to update the bond estimate to account for that.
Speaking of the bond estimate, do you guys plan to submit any comments or questions on the estimate provided on 8/24?
Best Regards,
Amy Eschberger
Senior Environmental Protection Specialist
© COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Ica Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
0: 303.866.3567 x 8129 1 C: 303.945.9014 1 F: 303.832.8106
Physical Address: 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203
Address for Fed Ex, UPS,or hand delivery:
1001 E 62nd Ave, Denver, CO 80216
Amy.Eschberger@state.co.us I https://drms.colorado.gov
[Quoted text hidden]
https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=62aOfa4cd9&view=pt&search=all&permmsgid=msg-a:r9009773956077486807&simpl=msg-a:r900977395607748... 1/1
