Bedrock does not crop out at the site, however regional geologic mapping of the area <br /> (Tweto, 1979)indicates the near surface bedrock beneath the site is most likely the Lower <br /> Member of the Pierre Shale. Tweto (1979)describes the Lower Member as organic rich <br /> shale with numerous bentonite beds. <br /> (g) Identify the primary and secondary commodities to be mined/extracted and <br /> describe the intended use. <br /> The primary commodities are sand and gravel; intended for construction materials.
