Bowie No. 1 Mine(Permit No.C-1981-038)
Dear Mr. Grosse-Rhode:
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is proposing to approve a renewal application for
coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Bowie Resources, LLC on August
25,2022 for the Bowie No. 1 Mine. In accordance with Rule 2.08.5(3)(b)of the Rules and Regulations of the
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board for Coal Mining,we are providing notice of this proposed decision.
Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal
hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the date following the first publication
of the public notice by the Division in the Delta County Independent.
The underground mine is located approximately 3 miles North of Paonia. The permit area is further described
as follows:
In all or portions of the following:
Sections 1,2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,22,23,24, and 25 Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M.
and
Sections 17, 18, 19,29,30, 31,and 32 of Township 13 South,Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.

Paonia, CO 81428. A Copy of the Division's"Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance" is available
at Delta County Clerk and Recorder, 501 Palmer Street,#211, Delta,CO 81416. The renewal application
