ditches and one pond. The FCT facility has been demolished and the area has been backfilled
and regraded and received Phase I Release in 2013 with SL-01.
The 6-Main North (6MN)facilities were constructed in 2007-2009 and are located in Section 17,
T5N, R86W. The 6MN facilities consist of an escape shaft with a man hoist for emergency
evacuation, cuttings pit, topsoil stockpiles, transformer, two rock dust tanks and associated
boreholes, Mine Atmosphere Control (MAC)borehole, and materials boreholes, compressor
building, 6MN million gallon water tank, 6MN sediment pond, 6MN reservoir, ventilation fan,
fan heaters (4), and propane tank. The 6MN facilities provide support to underground workings
in the Northern Mining District.
The 18-Right facilities area is located on the eastern flank of the Northern Mining District
workings in Sections 10 and 11, T5N, R86W. The 18-Right facilities consisted of a borehole,
heater, and hoist building, MAC borehole and monitoring equipment(portable trailers), cuttings
pit, and propane tank. The access road to this site connects to the Fish Creek Tipple facilities
area. The 18-Right facilities area has been demolished and the area has been backfilled,
regarded and revegetated. This area has received Phase I release in 2013 with the approval of
SL-O 1.
The 18-Left facilities were constructed in 2009. These facilities consist of a ventilation shaft
borehole, and escape shaft, MAC borehole, transformer pad, topsoil stockpile, cuttings pit, and
sediment pond. Structures for the escape shaft, ventilation fan, and MAC monitoring will be
removed from other areas of the mine where they are no longer needed, and reconstructed at the
18-Left site. The 18-Left facility will support the mine workings in the proposed Western
Mining District.
The 7-Right Thickener Underflow Borehole and pipeline were constructed in 2014. The 7RT
Thickener Underflow Borehole installation will be located east of both the intersection of Routt
County Roads 27 and 33 and the existing 6RT Borehole.
The 2-1\4N Thickener Underflow Borehole, constructed in 2014, included a borehole, pipeline,
and associated ancillary equipment and facilities at the 2-Right location. The 2RT Thickener
Underflow Borehole installation will be located near the north edge of the existing Mine
Facilities Area, between the existing weld shop and the Twentymile Railroad Spur.
The 5-1\4N Borehole, approved in 2014, installed a borehole to supply concrete to the Wadge
Seam workings at 5-Main North. In 2015, 5MN was approved to be converted to a dewatering
borehole and install about 5,000 feet of buried pipeline with vertical culvert access installations
at five valve locations. Located in the N'/z of the S'/z of Section 17, of Township 5 North, Range
86 West. This facility is intended to be used to pump water from the current and possibly from
future mine workings to be transferred to the existing 6-Main North(6MN) Reservoir, the
existing 10-Right water pipeline or a possible future passive water treatment system.
The 10-East Mid Panel Emergency Air Borehole approved in 2015, and located over the Wolf
Creek 10-East gateroad. The purpose of the borehole and associated pad is to provide an
emergency air-hole for air, supplies, and communication in this portion of the Wolf Creek
Reserve.
