To be only used for phenomena that meet the requirements of the recorder’s definition as provided below. <br />A map at 1:24,000 scale with IF clearly plotted must be attached. <br /> <br />1. Recorder’s Definition of Isolated Find: An isolate refers to one or more culturally modified objects not found in the context of <br />a site. Note that this definition makes no reference to an absolute quantifiable standard for the site/isolate distinction. For example: <br />a) A discrete concentration of flakes from the same material, regardless of the number of artifacts present, likely represents a single, <br />random event and is properly designated as an isolate, or b) Similarly, a ceramic pot bust is to be recorded as an isolate, regardless <br />of the number of sherds that remain. <br />5. Describe Artifact(s) and their distribution: The isolate is a quartzitic cobble mano and measures 13 x 8 x 7cm. <br /> No artifacts <br /> <br /> <br />12. Describe Feature (include dimensions): <br /> No features <br />13. Cultural Affiliation and Justification: Unknown prehistoric. <br />14. Time Period and Justification: Unknown prehistoric based on its lithic technology. <br />15. Relevant environmental information (e.g., elevation, topography, soils, vegetation, nearby water source): <br /> The artifact was located in an open grassy area on the ridge. Vegetation is Transitional brush and includes grasses, <br />and oak brush. The area is relatively flat, but slopes slightly to the north and the elevation is approximately 7120 feet. <br />Soils are Lamphier fins sandy loam, 3 to 25 percent slopes. The nearest water is an unnamed, intermittent drainage <br />15m to the west. Permanent water is Jeffway Gulch, 2.2km to the southeast. <br />16. Is this isolate located in a cultural landscape? Yes No <br /> If yes, describe: <br />17. Why is this isolated find not eligible for the National Register? The resource is not eligible because it is a <br />single, isolated occurrence with no diagnostic potential or potential to yield additional information regarding the <br />prehistory/history of the area. <br />18.
