During the next five-year permit term Trapper will not conduct blasting operations within 1,000 feet of any
building used as a dwelling, public building, school, church or community or institutional building outside
the permit area or within 500 feet of an active or abandoned underground mine. As such, the anticipated
blast design required by 4.08.1(4) will not be submitted for the next five-year term.
Flyrock, including blasted material traveling along the ground, will not be cast from blast sites more than
half the distance to the nearest dwelling or other occupied structure and in no case beyond lines of
property owned or leased by Trapper, or beyond the area of access regulated by Rule 4.08.4(5).
Within the Trapper permit area, blasting will never occur simultaneously at two or more pits.
All blasting will be conducted to prevent personal injury and damage to property. Blasting will be
conducted in such a manner as to ensure compliance with the ground vibration limits set forth in Rule
4.08.4(10). Blasting will be conducted in accordance with the following equation:
W = (D/DS)2, where
W = the maximum weight of explosives, in pounds, that can be detonated in any 8 -
millisecond period during a blast;
D = the distance, in feet, from the closest blast hole to the nearest dwelling, public
building, school, church, or community or institutional building;
Ds = the scaled -distance factor, using the following values as described in Rule
4.08.4(10):
50 = when the distance from the closest blast hole to the nearest dwelling,
public building, school, church, or community or institutional building is 0 to 300
feet;
55 = when the distance from the closest blast hole to the nearest dwelling,
public building, school, church, or community or institutional building is 301 to
5,000 feet;
65 = when the distance from the closest blast hole to the nearest dwelling,
public building, school, church, or community or institutional building is 5001 feet
or greater.
3-31 a
Ca
