PMY <br /> ii) Off-site disposal, according to all applicable regulations mentioned in Section 5.2. <br /> b) Recommendations and costs for cutting disposal should be included in the proposal and report. <br /> c) Prior to submittal of the final invoice for the work completed, the project manager should call the <br /> client to discuss final disposition of the materials. This information should be included in the project <br /> file. <br /> 3.0 Procedure - Purge Water <br /> The handling of purge water during drilling and sampling activities must be decided prior to field activities. The <br /> options are dependent on the anticipated contaminants at the site, previous analytical results, and the nature <br /> of the site itself. <br /> 3.1 Evaluation <br /> a) What are the potential contaminants? <br /> b) Purge water generated from new wells from development and/or sampling will always be containerized. <br /> c) Options at previously sampled sites should be evaluated with the appropriate regulatory agency. <br /> 3.2 Containerization of Purge Water <br /> a) Use 55-gallon (or other size), DOT-approved, polyurethane drums or equivalent, equipped with lids <br /> or bung holes. <br /> 3.3 Field Procedures <br /> The following procedures and considerations will be used in the field: <br /> a) Always place drums in an area that will not impact the use of the property. Always notify the owner <br /> that drums have been stored on the site and explain the process and schedule for evaluating disposal <br /> options. If the owner or occupant of the site is available, question them on the best place to store the <br /> drums. <br /> b) The lids of the drums should be secured prior to leaving the site. <br /> c) The drums should be labeled, using a permanent paint marker,with the following information: <br /> i) "Pinyon Environmental - 303-980-5200" <br /> ii) Contact Name <br /> iii) 'Investigation Derived Purge Water" <br /> iv) Include the date of sampling activities <br /> v) Include the well numbers, specific to that drum <br /> 3,4 Follow-Up <br /> The project manager will be responsible for the following activities: <br /> a) Upon receipt of analytical results, disposal options should be considered. Disposal options include: <br /> i) If contaminants are not detected in the water, and the site is suitable, the water can be released <br /> to paved areas of the site. <br /> ii) Off-site disposal, according to all applicable regulations. <br /> b) Recommendations and costs for purge water disposal should be included in the proposal and report. <br /> c) Prior to submittal of the final invoice for the task,the project manager should call the client to discuss <br /> IDW and Waste Materials Handling <br /> December 23, 2022 <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br />
