Subject Amendment to Notice of Intent P-2022-019 to Conduct Prospecting Operations for the REX Project in
Montrose County, Colorado
Dear Mr. Czapla,
On behalf of Sunrise Minerals Inc. (Sunrise), SRK Consulting (U.S.), Inc. (SRK)submits the enclosed
Notice of Intent to Conduct Prospecting Operations(NOI)as an amendment to NOI P-2022-019 for the
REX Project located in Montrose County Colorado. The NOI is included as Attachment 1. Related
figures, drill site coordinates, and claims are included as attachments 2 through 4.
Sunrise proposes to amend the existing NOI to conduct additional exploration drilling for the REX
Project in an area that has been accessed for mining anF` exploration purposes for several decades.
Most roads are existing and in many locations the road i on bedrock.The majority of the existing
roads will NOT require improvement for access.Areas of existing roads that will require improvement
are noted on the figures. Proposed drill pads will be located adjacent to roads whether existing or
proposed. The existing roads and laydown yard authorized with the original NOI will continue to be
used under this amendment. Disturbance calculations and photographs are included as attachments 6
and 7.
The amended drilling program is expected to start at the earliest in May 2024 at the conclusion of
winter range limitations for wildlife and raptor nest and burrowing owl surveys tentatively planned for
March/April 2024. Prior to drilling, Sunrise will apply for or renew the access permit as required by
Montrose County zoning regulations. Both the Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office
and Montrose County have been notified of the submission of this NOI as evidenced by attachments 5
and 10, respectively.
Financial warranty documents are a requirement for the submittal of an NOI. The Affidavit of Authority
and One Site Prospecting Financial Warranty paperwork to cover the estimated reclamation cost of
disturbance described in the NOI and will be submitted,with wet signatures, once the required amount
of warranty has been determined.A reclamation cost estimate has been prepared and can be found in
Attachment 9. This estimate is in addition to the current financial warranty in place for the original NOI.
Prospecting operations at the REX Project will not begin until the financial warranty has been accepted
and approved. Financial warranty documents will be submitted under a separate cover.
