Stabilizing the surface of the burned area on the steep terrain will be very challenging.
From the first switchback (see point 239), several slides from the cut-slope onto the road were visible.
These slides will need to be repaired before the road is passable. It is not clear how the cut-slope could be
stabilized effectively, given the nature of the road. Other slides had covered the road above the second (point 240),
third (point 241) and fourth (point 242) switchbacks. At point 241 the slide debris had diverted water flow across
the road with no sediment control in place on the down-slope side.
A mudslide onto the bench at point 243 had contributed to run-off which had destroyed the sediment
control structures, and led to the debris flow observed from point 238. Immediately to the west the silt fence was
intact and functional. A similar situation was observed at the western end of the bench (point 244), where some
sections of silt fence had held up fairly well while others had washed away completely.

DOCUMENTS RECEIVED
N/A
OTHER (SPECIFY)
N/A

ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

N/A
