In 2020 two Class III surveys were conducted by Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. The surveys
included approximately 480 acres in the northwest corner of the permit area, including the PR-11 expansion
area. The area covered by these surveys is shown on Map M45 and the results of these surveys are
included in Appendix K, Parts XVIII and XIX. The surveys identified six sites for new recording and a revisit
of one previously recorded Native American site. Three of the newly recorded sites were recommended as
eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places; the remaining three sites were determined not
eligible for listing. Archaeological sites identified as eligible for listing are discussed in Section 2.9.1. All
surveys were authorized by and submitted to the Bureau of Land Management Little Snake Field office and
conducted in accordance with the requirements of the National Historic Preservation Act.

2.9.1 Archaeological Sites

In 1972 an archaeological survey conducted by D.
