•
•
2.7-28h shows that the pH of the water from well GP -8 has been steady and
approximately eight for the last year.
Bicarbonate is the anion with the largest concentration in the KLM water.
Sulfate also exists in a significant concentration in well GP -1. Sodium is the
cation with the largest concentration, but calcium and magnesium concentrations are
also significant in well GP -2.
HI Aquifer
The HI aquifer, in general, contains concentrations similar to those observed
in the KLM or QR aquifer. Wells GP -3, GP -7 and GC -1 are used to define water
quality conditions in the HI aquifer in the eastern portion of the Trapper Mine.
The TDS in the HI aquifer at well GC -1 has increased from 800 to 1100 mg/1
from 1974 to the present (see Figure 2.7-28i). This change is a natural fluctuation
of TDS that is expected over a long period of time due to variable recharge
conditions.
The TDS of HI well GP -7 is presented in Figure 2.7-28j and shows a steady
concentration for the last year, except for the initial value which was probably
affected by the recent drilling of well GP -7. The TDS of the HI aquifer near well
GP -7 is approximately 800 mg/1 which is lower than the TDS at well GC -1 probably due
to being closer to the outcrop of this unit. The TDS of the HI aquifer at well GP -3
is less than 1000 mg/1. This well is located fairly close to the northern boundary
of the Trapper permit (see Figure 2.7-28k).
2-520 ee
WE1IlSED FFQ 1 'z 'a7
