FIRST-AID MEASURES <br /> Description of Necessary Measures: <br /> Eye Contact: If in eyes: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while holding eyelids <br /> open. Tilt head to avoid contaminating unaffected eye. Get immediate medical attention. Remove contact lens if <br /> easy to do. <br /> Skin Contact: If on skin: Flush skin with plenty of water while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Do <br /> not reuse clothing or shoes until cleaned. If irritation develops or persists, get medical attention. <br /> Inhalation: If inhaled: Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if breathing becomes difficult or respiratory <br /> irritation occurs. <br /> Ingestion: If swallowed: Call a physician immediately. DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by a <br /> physician. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If vomiting occurs spontaneously, keep head <br /> below hips to prevent aspiration of liquid into the lungs. Give 1 glass of water or milk to drink. <br /> Most Important Symptoms/Effects, Acute and Delayed: <br /> Eye Contact: May cause severe irritation. May cause: corneal damage. Effects may be slow to heal. Contact <br /> with heated material may cause: burns. <br /> Skin Contact: May cause mild irritation. Prolonged and repeated exposure may cause: burns. Contact with <br /> heated material may cause: thermal burns. May cause a more severe response if confined to the skin or if the <br /> skin is abraded (scratched or cut). Prolonged or repeated exposure may cause moderate irritation. <br /> Skin Absorption: A single prolonged exposure is not likely to result in the material being absorbed through skin <br /> in harmful amounts. <br /> Inhalation: Mists may irritate: upper respiratory tract. <br /> Ingestion: May cause mild irritation. Single dose oral toxicity is considered to be extremely low. Small amounts <br /> swallowed incidental to normal handling operations are not likely to cause injury; swallowing amounts larger than <br /> that may cause injury. May cause irritation of the: gastrointestinal tract. <br /> Indication of Immediate Medical Attention and Special Treatment Needed: Due to irritant properties, <br /> swallowing may result in burns/ulceration of mouth, stomach and lower GI tract with subsequent stricture. <br /> Aspiration of vomitus may cause lung injury. Suggest endotracheal/esophageal control if Iavage is done. If a <br /> burn is present, treat as any thermal burn, after decontamination. There is no specific antidote. Treatment of <br /> overexposure should be directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient. <br /> 5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES <br /> Extinguishing Media: Not flammable. For fires in area use appropriate media. For example: Water spray. Dry <br /> chemical. Carbon dioxide. Foam. <br /> Specific Hazards Arising from the Chemical: <br /> Fire and Explosion Hazards: Material will not ignite or burn. <br /> Hazardous Combustion Products: None known. <br /> Special Protective Equipment and Precautions for Fire-Fighters: Evacuate area of unprotected personnel. <br /> Wear protective clothing including NIOSH-Approved self-contained breathing apparatus. <br /> 6.
