0010
General Shale
Building The American Dream•
March 31, 2023
REcEvE
,PR 2 p 2023
Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 OF REC1A
Denver, CO 80203 GNIM N NG PNp SAWN
Attn: Amber Michels Reclamation Specialist
Re: Permit Number: M-1990-143 Stone City Mine
Temporary Cessation Form and Fee
Ms. Michels:
Enclosed are the Temporary Cessation Form and a check for the Temporary Cessation
Filing Fee of$144.00 for the Stone City Mine located in Pueblo County, Colorado. This
is a request for the second term of temporary cessation.
General Shale is planning to amend the adjacent Tomahawk Mine reclamation permit M-
1991-003 to include the Stone City Mine. The Stone City Mine and Tomahawk Mine are
located on the U.S. Army Fort Carson Army Training Base. General Shale's plan is to
propose an amendment to the Army and work out the details of the amendment with the
Army prior to submitting an amendment to the DRMS since the Army is the surrounding
landowner. General Shale has submitted a request to the Army to amend the reclamation
permit in June 2022. The Army is reviewing this request in their environmental and legal
divisions currently to determine what environmental studies are needed.
If you have any questions and/or there are any problems with this transmittal, please
contact me at(303) 783-3058.
Sincerely,
Jason E. McGraw P.E.
Mine Supervisor
Enc: Temporary Cessation Form and Check for Temporary Cessation Fee
