Depths of the deposit are from recent test pits and the depth from an upstream water
well in the creek bed;typical soil properties were used. These poles are typically 45'tall,bedded to a depth of
approximately 7' below grade.
Mining depth used was at a maximum of 20' below existing grade;intended mining will stay above the natural
groundwater at all times. Several iterations through the software showed that if a 2:1 excavation slope was
maintained at the northern mining limit,a factor of safety against slope instability of 1.66 was obtained,
preventing any damage to the power poles.
Since the Century Link cable is 542'from the northern mining limit, it will be not affected by mining.
If you or others have any questions, pleas Peet.rb46 call.me. 303-947-5828.
Stan Peters, P.E.
MSCE—Structural &Geotechnical .ti F
."SS r^;Ja
Attachment:Slope Stability Analysis Diagram, with soil properties
536 ff'AS7-2, D A 47D'VL,E CASTLE ROCK, CO 801 n8 (,9OX 947-.6828 STANPETfsXSf'E9GRL4&COA-f
