• 1000LORADO -w Division of Reclamation, ® Mining and Safety Department of Natural Resources March 6, 2023 Moffat County Commissioners 221 W.Victory Way Craig, CO 81625 Re: Williams Fork Mines (Permit No. C-1981-044) Permit Renewal Application No. 8(RN-8) Dear Moffat County Commissioners: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 6, 2023, an application to renew an existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at Williams Fork Mines was considered complete for the purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. Moffat County Mining, LLC proposes to continue underground coal mining and/or reclamation operations on land located approximately 7 miles Southwest of Craig, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: All or portions of Sections 4, 5, 6 and 8, T5N, R91W; part of Section 1, T5N, R92W; Sections 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33,T6N,R91W; portions of Sections 25, 26, 35 and 36,T6N, R92W; 6th Prime Meridian.. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Round Bottom, Castor Gulch. Permit Renewal No. 8 constitutes a renewal of the existing permit. This renewal application does not propose revisions to the approved mining and reclamation plan,nor is there any proposed surface disturbance outside of the currently approved disturbance area.
