The sediment pond is to remain on site to promote wildlife habitat. The primary 36" pipe spillway was plugged with concrete <br /> and the outer components were removed. The emergency spillway was armored with rock. Eleven (11)Tamarisk trees (a <br /> noxious weed specie in Colorado)were excavated and removed from the bottom of the pond. <br /> All disturbed areas left in a rough state, seeded, fertilized and mulched. Seed was purchased from Arkansas Valley Seed <br /> Company at a cost of$400.00 (2 acres seeded). All areas were hand seeded using the following seed mixture <br /> recommended by the Coal Program: <br /> SPECIES SCIENTIFIC NAME VARIETY PLS POUNDS PER ACRE <br /> Rubber rabbitbrush Chrysothamnus 0.2 <br /> nauseousus <br /> Fourwing saltbush Atriplex canescens Rincon 1.0 <br /> Shadscale saltbush Atriplex confertifolia 4.0 <br /> Western wheatgrass Agropyron smihii Arriba 6.0 <br /> Indian ricegrass Orypopsis hymenoides Paloma 3.0 <br /> TOTAL pls lbs./acre 14.2 <br /> The project was completed on April 17, 2009. <br /> Change orders were issued as follows; <br /> Change Order#1 <br /> • Install the 4 additional Access Road/Fill Outslope check dams below the main drainage channel. $0.00 (used <br /> additionals) <br /> • Install the 2 additional Portal check dams within the 50 foot portal slope. $0.00 (used additionals) <br /> • Construct a ditch 49 feet long, 4 feet wide and 2 feet deep on the old exploration road above the fill. $0.00 (used <br /> additionals) <br /> • Additional excavation work in the sediment pond to remove 11 Tamarisk noxious weed plants. $0.00 (used <br /> additionals) <br /> Change Order#2 <br /> • Install a rock channel 115 feet long below the constructed road check dams. Increase of$1,955.00 <br /> • Install a rock channel 80 feet long in the western channel and 5 check dams. Increase of$2,360.00 <br /> • Install a rock channel 110 feet long in the confluence drainage above the sediment pond. Increase of$1,870.00 <br /> • Additional revegetation due to new work above.
