Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program
CLOSEOUT REPORT
BOND FORFEITURE PROJECTS
Introduction: Return Mine reclamation constructed during October 2013 by RM2 LLC as part of multi-bond forfeiture
project called Biscuit Rock which contained three other sites within the general Uravan, Colorado area.
Permit Information
Permit Number Operator Name Mine Name
P-2006-008 Beck Resources LLC Return Mine
Type of Mine— Adit Commodity Mined— UraniumNanadium
PRE-RECLAMATION SITE CONDITIONS
Previous reclamation work was completed by permitee Beck Resources LLC and included backfilling the adit entry of the
mine in summer 2010. Stormwater runoff controls were installed to include an interceptor drainage and catch basin with a
separate smaller catch basin next to the road ditch. A waste rock repository was constructed on the eastern edge of the
site. Little to no vegetation was established and the stormwater catch basin was in need of sediment removal. Additional
riprap is needed in the stormwater drainages. The waste rock pile did not have any vegetation and was beginning to show
signs of erosion.
BIDDING/CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION
Reclamation work constructed as part of multiple Bond Forfeiture project called the Biscuit Rock awarded to RM2, LLC of
Clifton, Colorado. The bid document included$1,500.00 for bid items 5.1 -Return Mine Regrading and —$4000.00 for Bid
Item 5.2- Return Mine Revegetation -2 acres at$2000.00/acre. Mobilization($4,000.00)and SHEAP ($500.00) costs
were shared between the four different Bond Forfeiture projects Shared cost is$1,125.00/site.
Type of Bid- Invitation Formal - Bid as the Biscuit Rock Project, PKA-13-704
PO Number Contractor Name &Address Construction Bond Amount
1300000041 Dates $ 7,815.00
RM2, LLC Start: 11/19/2013
P.O. RM2 had previously mobed a 25 foot flatbed trailer with weed free certified mulch and trailer
containing Biosol and seed.
The work began on 10/21/13 with cleaning out the existing stormwater catch basin by excavating approximately 2 feet of wet
saturated sediment and spreading across the existing waste rock pile in an approximately 4"-6" lift to cover the entire waste
rock area. The backhoe was used to construct 1 foot deep gouges spaced approximately 1 foot apart across the entire
surface of the waste rock pile. The moist sediment removed from the catch basin provided a good seedbed and
revegetation was completed. One hour additional equipment time was used to remove waste rock from a natural
stormwater drainage on the eastern edge of the waste rock pile
Additional work included armoring the existing drainage channel with large on-site rock, removal and widening of second
smaller catch basin next to road ditch (additional hour of equipment time), and scarification of all areas devoid of vegetation.
Revegetation included 1) scarification approximately 4"deep with backhoe bucket, 2)hand spreading of native seed mixture
and 3)application of 400 lbs/acre of organic fertilizer Biosol and 4)mulching with certified weed free straw applied at a rate
of 2 tons/acre and hand or machine crimping of mulch.
Remaining Reclamation Requirements and Estimated Cost
Vegetation maintenance may need to be accomplished in the future.
As of 05/14/09
