Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program <br /> CLOSEOUT REPORT <br /> BOND FORFEITURE PROJECTS <br /> Introduction: The purpose of this project is to perform noxious weed eradication on a revoked prospecting site located on <br /> private land. This work was done in accordance with the approved mining and reclamation plan. The Dawson Ridge <br /> Reservoir Prospecting Notice of Intent (NOI) was terminated and the bond was forfeited on October 7, 2004.The Division <br /> of Reclamation, Mining and Safety reclaimed this site using the forfeited bond money, and severance tax money. <br /> Permit Information <br /> Permit Number Operator Name Mine Name <br /> P-1989-098 Dawson Ridge Metro District No. 5 Dawson Ridge Reservoir Prospect <br /> Type of Mine— Prospecting drill holes Commodity Mined— prospecting for potential reservoir <br /> PRE-RECLAMATION SITE CONDITIONS—Substantial desirable vegetation, along with several varieties of noxious weeds, <br /> unable to locate drill holes. <br /> BIDDING/CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION -The Dawson Ridge Reservoir Prospect site is located 5 miles west of the <br /> Town of Sedalia in Douglas County, Colorado. The site lies at the end of a private road on the north side of Highway 67 in <br /> Jarre Canyon. This project consisted of chemical application of Tordon herbicide to 13 acres of this site. At that time, two additional noxious weeds were found — Houndstongue and White Top. It was decided that these <br /> species would also be addressed during this project's herbicide spraying. The Contractor completed herbicide application <br /> on more than half of the 13 acres by 6 pm on 6/1/2010. We returned on June 2nd, and he completed the remaining acreage <br /> by noon of 6/2/2010. <br /> All told, Tordon was applied to 13 acres of this site and eradicated Diffuse Knapweed, Houndstongue,White Top and <br /> Mullein.
