Colorado Inactive Mine Reclamation Program
CLOSEOUT REPORT
ACTIVE MINE BOND FORFEITURE PROJECTS
Permit Information
Permit Number Operator Name Mine Name
P-1987-063 International Mining & Milling Leland Claims
Clear Creek County
Type of Mine - Underground Commodity Mined - Gold
PRE RECLAMATION SITE CONDITIONS
According to the mining plan, this operation was to include an access road, mine bench, and underground mine
adit. The file indicates that the mine road and bench were constructed in 1987. The access road begins at the
hairpin curve on the Edgar Mine access road (8th Ave.) and extends approximately 1400' east to a small mine
bench. A locked iron gate prevents vehicular access. There are no signs of a portal or mining equipment and
there is no evidence that underground mining ever took place at this prospect. There was trash, litter, and debris
on site early in 2006. There are no signs of erosion on the access road. A culvert that channels water beneath the
road at a drainage intersection appears to be in good condition and that road is now used as a hiking and
mountain biking trail.
BIDDING/CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION _
Type of Bid Documented Quote, irect Bill
(circle one) Formal - Bid as the ,--- Project, PKA-
PO Number Contractor Name &Address Construction Bond Amount
NA Dates $ 2,000.00
City of Idaho Springs Start: 7/01/06
PO Date P.O. The access road and mine bench is mostly re-vegetated except for a narrow trail
used by hikers and mountain bikers. The City plans to further develop this and nearby land for use as open
space, hiking trails, and/or a destination hiking-mountain biking venue.
Remaining Reclamation Requirements and Estimated Cost
There are no other forfeiture funds available for this site, however; the City of Idaho Springs will be completing
additional site restoration or reclamation with funds available from DRCOG and other sources as part of their
plans to develop the site and adjacent land for open-space use.
A /17/.(/714
G4 Project Manager
i ,/lam Supervisor
c\gary\revoked\internationalmining\forfeitcloseout.doc
