synthetic precipitation leaching procedure(SPLP-a sampling method that is similar to rainfal), with tailings amended at 1:5
and 1:10 parts lime to tailings respectively. The SPLP test at 1:10 still had detectable lead, while the 1:5 had no detectable
lead.
BIDDING/CONSTRUCTION INFORMATION
Type of Bid Formal - Bid as the Yukon Tunnel Bond Forfeiture Project, PKA-14-719
CMS Number: Contractor Name&Address Construction Bond Amount
59998 Dates $0 -already used the bond in 2000
RMC Consultants Start:
12295 West 48th Avenue, Unit A 9/10/2013
Wheatridge, CO 80033
Funding Source: End: Project Cost
FMS3 10/28/2013 $114,325.00+$432.85 for seed=
$114,757.85
Construction Work Description
Construction at the Yukon started on September 30, 2013. Work began on trash removal of collapsed buildings and
scattered debris. The tailings pond was amended with 1 part limestone crusher fines from the Monarch Quarry with 5 parts
tailings. The entire reclaimed tailings pond was covered with approximately 2 feet of soil from the bermed up material that
comprised the pond walls. The linear ditches below the galvanized mill building were filled back in to grade with soil and
intermittent plywood walls were installed to return the groundwater table to normal. Trees were transplanted across all
regraded areas and a run on controls were installed above the waste pile. The galvanized mill building was sealed off and
an additional locked gate was installed near Cement Creek Road.
Remaining Reclamation Requirements and Estimated Cost
The 1978 galvanized mill building was NOT torn down at the request of the improvements owner(the improvements on the
property are separated from the surface owner). It is unclear what the legal ownership situation of the property will be in the
future, but there is a possibility that the surface owner will be able to get clearance to remove the galvanized mill building.
Inside the mill building there is a chemical storage locker that contains cyanide(1 barrel) and xanthate (2 barrels). These
need to be removed and sent to a hazardous waste facility. The mill building is currently locked and the chemicals are
inside a locked cage, but it would be easy to vandalize the structure to gain access. It is estimated that removal of the
building and chemicals would cost approximately$100,000.00.
1) I
IA, o--co/Z-- 3)
Project Manager g Senior Project Manager
6/18/2015
Date ‘— 5
f — l
Date
2
