Colorado Division roject of Reclamation, <br /> Mining & Safety <br /> Mountain Top Mine <br /> Bond Forfeiture Project 2009 <br /> Background <br /> The Mountain Top Mine is a 1 mile long crosscut to a vein with 300 feet of drifts,according to The Mining Company,the <br /> current landowner. The mine was previously operated by Silver Eagle Mining Company,who also operated the <br /> Howardsville Mill in Silverton,Colorado. <br /> The site consisted of a 50 gpm draining adit that was poorly secured with old metals gates and corrugated tin and a 20,000 <br /> cubic yard waste pile blocking a natural drainage with a settling pond constructed out of mine waste berms. Additionally a <br /> concrete building pad,a green fuel tank,a transformer and miscellaneous wood and metal debris were located on site <br /> to SnelIel's Creek, �,': / -` <br /> Cursor <br /> Bond/Financial to Governess <br /> N ;/sis Basin <br /> locked gate <br /> The Mountain Top Mine's bond was revoked (posted) ;' / <br /> and a$2,500 bond was forfeited to the State ,. ; <br /> of Colorado for reclamation.
