The site is much larger than the approved 0.5 acres noted in the permit file. The <br /> three pits are located on steep slopes and erosion was occurring outside the permit boundaries. The three(3) pits were backfilled to 3H:1 V or less and <br /> blended in with the surrounding topography. Stockpiles were removed and graded into the pits and mining debris was <br /> buried. In order to minimize surface erosion and to promote the development of micro-climates on the reclaimed areas <br /> intensive surface roughening was used. All pits vegetated with the USFS recommended seed mixture, Biosol Plus 7-3-3 <br /> applied and area mulched with certified weed free straw at a rate of 2 tons per acre. The road connecting the three pits was <br /> roughened, revegetated and applied with Biosol. <br /> Remaining Reclamation Requirements and Estimated Cost- <br /> None. Severance Tax Funds were used to reclaim the areas that were mined outside of the permit area(nearly 1 acre <br /> outside of approved area).
