As part of earthwork activities involved in
construction of Climax's Moly Removal Water Treatment Plant (MRWTP) (approved via Technical
Revision TR-34), Climax plans to re-route the existing power supply as described below and as
depicted on the attached figures.
The re-route involves the following:
• The existing buried 25 kV power line routed along the north side of the existing Property
Discharge Water Treatment Plant (PDWTP)will be largely abandoned. The power cable
will be removed from the existing buried conduit and the conduit will be abandoned in place.
See Figure 1 for the location of the abandoned power cable conduit.
• At the west end of the PDWTP project site, a new 25 kV power cable will be buried as
depicted on Figure 2. It will transition to overhead near the intersection with the Old
Highway 91. Four new overhead power poles will be required to route the new line to the
existing power poles located along Old Highway 91. From there, the new power cable will
utilize existing power poles until it meets the existing transformer near the Events Pond on
the east side of the MRWTP project area.
Please note that no new disturbance is anticipated as part of this power cable re-route. All earthwork
to install the buried portion and four new power poles is located within previous disturbed lands (as
approved under TR-19). No impacts to undisturbed lands or wetlands in the area are planned. This
change will be included in the as-builts and certification that will be sent to DRMS once the project
is completed as required by TR-34.
