<br /> <br />NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to approve with conditions <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 5 (RN-5), submitted by Bowie Resources, LLC for a coal mining <br />permit at the Bowie No. 2 Mine (Permit No. C-1996-083). The proposed renewal will allow for <br />continued mining and/or reclamation operations at the site. <br /> <br />The Bowie No. 2 Mine is a/an underground operation located in Delta County, approximately 5 miles <br />Northeast of Paonia, Colorado. Coal interest is federal and private, and the surface to be affected is <br />federal and private land. The permit area encompasses approximately 10,987.40 acres. <br /> <br />This proposed decision is based on a finding of whether the proposed operation will comply with all <br />requirements of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34 -33-101 et seq., <br />C.R.S., and the regulations promulgated thereunder. <br /> <br />A copy of the “Proposed Decision and Findings of Compliance”, including any stipulations, is on <br />file for public inspection at the Paonia Public Library, 2 3rd Street, Paonia, CO 81428; Delta <br />County Clerk and Recorder, 501 Palmer Street, Room 211, Delta, CO 81416 .
