The Quonset but is clad in corrugated steel with a two-door single bay entry centered on
the southwest end. Two pairs of six-lite windows are set on either side of the entry bay, and a louvered air vent is set above the
entry bay. On the east half of the southeast side of the outbuilding are six additional six-lite windows. The semicircular northeast
fagade of the outbuilding has a similar bay opening and windows as the southwest end; however, the northeast fagade also has a
corrugated steel—sided(shed-roofed)entry room added on its north corner. The entry room has the same six-lite windows as the
main Quonset but as well as a small cement-surfaced chimney on its northeast side. The Quonset but is consistent with Stran-Steel
models(prefabricated kits)dating to World War II and after(Thomas 2003).Weld County's assessed date of 1950 for this building is
likely accurate.
HISTORICAL ASSOCIATIONS (based on visual observations and/or review of secondary sources):
5.
