<br />Dear Moffat County Commissioners:
<br />
<br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety is
<br />proposing to approve a renewal application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The
<br />application was submitted by Colowyo Coal Company L.P. on April 18, 2022, for the Colowyo Coal
<br />Mine.
<br />
<br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request
<br />a formal hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the date following the
<br />first publication of this notice by the Division in the CO Mountain News Media - Craig Daily Press.
<br />
<br />The surface mine is located approximately 28 miles South of Craig, Colorado. The permit area is
<br />further described as follows:

<br />All or portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 28, 29, and
<br />30 in Township 3 North, Range 93 West; Sections 7, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 26,
<br />27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34 in Township 4 North, Range 93 West; Sections 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 12,
<br />13, 14, 15, 22, and 23 in Township 3 North, Range 94 West; and Sections 12, 13, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27,
<br />34, 35, and 36 in Township 4 North, Range 94 West (all in 6th Prime Meridian).

<br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review at the Moffat County Clerk and
<br />Recorder, 221 W Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625. A Copy of the Division's “Proposed Decision
<br />and Findings of Compliance” is available at your County Clerk and Recorder’s office. The
