(4) Because all mining activity within the permit area, other than surface <br />facilities, is underground, the only qualitative vegetation information <br />collected is for the vegetation study areas as described in Appendix 10-1. <br /> <br />(5) Appendix 10-2, describes the results of the threatened and endangered <br /> species survey conducted within the Roadside North and South Portals <br /> permit area in 1983. Additional survey work was done in 1996 to cover <br /> the CRDA-2 and -3 as well as areas adjacent to the 2 West Portals and <br /> the South Fan.
