Dept. of Public Health and Environment). The shaft is located up the Dry Fork Road <br />(711) just east of Paonia. The mine is proposing to move the fenceline (see attached map) outward <br />slightly from its present location which is close to the edge of the pad at the present time. You can <br />see the pad footprint inside the yellow line which will be the new fence alignment. <br />West Elk Mine will hand thin (with chainsaws) and possibly use a mulching head on a skidster to <br />clear a 6 foot right of way for the new fence which will be about 1,200 feet long around the <br />perimeter of the air shaft pad. I’ve included the previous cultural resource survey that was carried <br />out for the Deer Creek Shaft (and some methane drainage wells) in 2005, it is also represented on <br />the map by the orange outline. <br />If you have any questions let me know.
